Man City on brink of nabbing Nasri from Arsenal

FA Cup champions Manchester City are on the brink of completing a £20 million transfer of Arsenal's Samir Nasri, it has been reported.

The French midfielder is close to agreeing a £150,000-a-week deal as City step up their summer spending spree, according to 'The Sun'.

The move would be a massive blow to Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson, who had hoped to sign Nasri himself.

City boss Roberto Mancini has told the club owners he needs five new faces before the start of the season.

Meanwhile, City will demand a fee of around £50 million for Carlos Tevez to get his wish and leave Eastlands.

City officials have responded to Tevez's latest attempt to sever ties with the club with a resigned shrug.

There has been no official response to Monday night's announcement from a player currently appearing for Argentina at the Copa America, and it seems there is unlikely to be so just yet.
