Man Utd’s Young, Rio ‘attack’ City with warning

They have the easier run-in and they have the experience at the mind games.

So Manchester United unleashed Ashley Young and and Rio Ferdinand on Manchester City.

Young warned City that the champions will be ready to pounce when they slip up.

Notice the ‘when’, and not the ‘if’.

Young score two superb goals at White Hart Lane and said (http://bit.ly/zOyJZ7): "Any time they slip up and we can take advantage, then we will.

"We'll keep pegging them back. As Paul Scholes said the other day, we think we'll have to win every game.

"So as long as we keep doing that, we'll be OK. We'll just concentrate on ourselves, take each game as it comes.

"We've just had two tough away games at Tottenham and Norwich. Every game between now and the end will be tough."

United’s old pro Rio Ferdinand believes the return of his Three Lions team-mate is a major boost.

He said: "It is fantastic to see Ashley back. It takes you a couple of games to get back into the groove. Before his injury he was flying and now it looks like he is back into form.

"We have just got to keep winning the games in front of us — that is all we can do.

"If we do that we'll put pressure on the other teams."

Rio also turned up the heat on title rivals saying: "We have just got to keep winning games. If we do that, we will put pressure on the other teams.

"It is about keeping our own house in order and making sure we remain resilient and keep putting points on the board."

Ferdinand insists United will go hell for leather in every game — calling their run-in 11 "cup finals".
