Arsenal are willing to sell Emmanuel Frimpong since the defensive midfielder is considered to be surplus.

The Gunners will listen to offers for Frimpong in January after opting not to open negotiations over a new deal, Goal.com reported in an exclusive.

The 20-year-old Ghanaian, an Academy graduate has been at the club for 11 years.

But Arsenal chiefs have been unimpressed with the development of the midfielder .

Wolves are said to be keen on the defensive midfielder following a loan spell he had at the club last season.

Frimpong only managed to play five games before damaging his cruciate ligament in his right knee but showed enough for the Midlands club to be interested in signing him.

Championship club Wolves are thought to prefer a deal that involves taking him on loan in January and then signing him permanently next summer when his contract runs out at Arsenal.

Frimpong began his comeback with the Arsenal Under-21s at around the same time as his good friend Jack Wilshere and has made two appearances for the first team in the Capital One Cup.
