Arsene Wenger wants a crackdown on illegal approaches to players as he fights to keep Samir Nasri at Arsenal, British tabloid ‘The Sun’ reported.
Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini earned the ire of Wenger after he admitted that he wants to sign £20 million-rated Nasri.
Asked if he thought Nasri had been tapped up, Wenger said: “What do you think? It is a rule that has to be reviewed. It’s not really respected.”
Arsenal are also unhappy with Barcelona officials and players who keep talking about Cesc Fabregas joining them.
Wenger has come under fire himself as £11 million new boy Gervinho, who scored both goals in Saturday’s 2-1 win over Cologne, is his only major signing.
Asked about any more big moves in the transfer market, Wenger said: “It’s not the number of players, it’s the quality.”
Meanwhile, Theo Walcott admits Arsenal must get off to a flying start this season.
Arsenal face Newcastle in their opening Premier League game on August 13, and also play Liverpool and Manchester United. They have a massive two-legged Champions League qualifier too.
Walcott said: “We will be ready. We want to start off well and we want to challenge for something this year.”
