Khalifa Sulaiman: Sheikh Khalifa’s ‘historic decision’ is a boost to UAE sport

Khalifa Saeed Sulaiman, Chairman of the Higher Committee for Merger of Shabab Al Ahli Dubai Football Club in Dubai, said that the directives of UAE’s President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to allow the children of Emirati women to take part in official sports competitions held in the UAE, is a “prove of UAE leadership’s support for the youth in the sports sector.”

The new directive means it doesn't require being an Emirati national to participate in competitions; this also includes those holders of passports which are under process, as well as those born in the UAE.

Sulaiman added: “The historic decision of His Highness is a boost to UAE chances in achieving top positions at all levels, continental, international, and Olympic.”
