Football enthusiasts across the UAE are gearing up for the first ever Chevrolet Michel Salgado 24 Hour Tournament (Chevrolet MS24H).

Sponsored by Chevrolet, the inaugural event – born out of a partnership between the leading automotive brand and Chevrolet Regional Brand Ambassador Michel Salgado – will be held on December 11-12 from 8:00pm to 8:00pm at the Dubai Sport City Indoor Dome.

The contest’s official slogan ‘Win or Die’ epitomises the competitive spirit of football and the gruelling effort required for a 24-hour tournament.

Coached by Salgado himself, over 300 players will go head to head at the Chevrolet MS24H, putting their best foot forward for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to win Dh20,000, Dh10,000 and Dh5,000 for first, second and third place, respectively. The cash prizes will be split between all team members.

There will be 24 teams – comprising 14 players each – taking part in the knockout tournament. Each 7-a-side match will last 20 minutes.

At the end of the competition, three lucky participants – the most valuable player, top goal keeper and top goal scorer – will also receive coveted Chevrolet prizes, including a signed Manchester United jersey and the chance to test drive the all-new 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe.

“We are so proud to have orchestrated this inaugural 24 hour tournament in collaboration with football legend and Chevrolet Regional Brand Ambassador Michel Salgado,” said Chevrolet Brand Manager Ahmed Soudodi.

Salgado said: “This 24-hour tournament is the culmination of a passionate collaboration – between Chevrolet, the Dubai Sports City, and myself – designed to provide the UAE’s legions of football fans with a rich avenue to both channel and showcase their love for the sport.”
