Nearly a dozen renowned Pakistani volleyball players will participate in the final of the Euro Global Sports Club matches to be played in Dubai on Thursday, October 8.

More than 5,000 Pakistani nationals are expected to watch the final to be played after 11pm in the main ground of Sonapur Labour Camp, Dubai.

“It’s an annual event we organise for the labourers here in Dubai. In the first two matches, around 4-000 to 5,000 members of the community witnessed the matches because a number of famous volleyball players from Pakistan are participating in this shoot; so we expect the same number of people to turn up for the final tomorrow (October 8),” said Chaudhry Kamran Walayat, Chairman of Euro Global Sports Club – the organiser of the event.

Among the Pakistan’s national level players participating in the event include Kamala Gujjar, Shani Gujjar, Javed Gondal, Ali Gujjar, Nadim Gujjar and Kalimullah among others.

The first match, according to Walayat, was held on the second day of Eid Al Adha while the second match was played last week.

“Since the turnout was quite high, we request Pakistani embassy in the UAE to support us with regard to organizing matches in stadium rather than the labour camp ground in Sonapur,” Walayat told Emirates 24l7 in an interview.
