Sindhi Cricket Club tour UK for second successive year

For the second successive year, the Sindhi Cricket Club embarked on a seven-day tour of the United Kingdom.

The 12-member squad, comprising UAE businessmen with a lot of passion for the game, beganheir tour on Saturday May 17 with a light indoor practice session at the Leicestershire Cricket Club in the evening.

The tour is being organised by the Sindhi Cricket Club in accordance with the Dubai Cricket Council (DCC).

They will play a 35-over match against Desi Veterans at Hinckley Town and Worcestershire Fossils during the tour.

The team will return to the UAE on May 23.

Shiva G Pagarani Committee Member of Sindhi Cricket Club, said, “We had an enjoyable trip to UK last year, where apart from cricket we also got to interact with people from different countries who have made the UK their base.

“Last year we were also lucky to witness the match between India and West Indies in the Champions Trophy,” added Shiva.

“The trip gives us a chance to get away from our day to day lifestyle. This time we have planned a trip to watch a first class cricket match at either Warwickshire, Leicestershire or Northamptonshire,” he said.

In September, the Sindhi Cricket Club will also make a six day tour of Kuala Lumpur and Phuket.
