Wimbledon champion Marion Bartoli, who shocked tennis by announcing her retirement last week, revealed her new job on Sunday -- as a TV pundit.

The 28-year-old Frenchwoman said she will work for broadcaster Eurosport at the US Open which gets underway in New York next week.

"Very thrilled to announce I will be part of the @Eurosport team for this @usopen commentating in english and french!!," she tweeted.

Bartoli defeated Germany's Sabine Lisicki to win Wimbledon in July but quit the sport in tears after a second-round loss to Simona Halep in Cincinnati last week.

In addition to Wimbledon, Bartoli won seven other WTA Tour titles, beginning with Auckland in 2006. Her most recent, prior to Wimbledon, were both in 2011 -- at Eastbourne, England, and Osaka, Japan.
