The Dubai Courts has entered the Guinness Book of Records for setting a new world record in e-auctions.

The Dubai Courts has been able to break the record for the most expensive property sold via an e-auction conducted through smart applications. The property in question was valued at nearly Dh94 million; thus the Dubai Courts is now the first court to enter the Guinness World Records anywhere on the planet.

This feat has been achieved in accordance with the framework of the strategic partnership between the Dubai Courts and Emirates Auction.

Dr. Ahmed Saeed Bin Hazeem, Managing Director of Dubai Courts, received the certificate of registration from the Management of Guinness World Records, during a meeting with a delegation from Guinness World Records. The meeting was conducted in the presence of Abdullah Matar Al-Mannaei, CEO of Emirates Auction, and a number of officials.

In a collaboration between the Execution Department of Dubai Courts and the Emirates Auction, the sale of the property was made through an online auction, in an integrated manner, with only smart applications involved in the bidding process.

The Dubai Courts Execution Department has put up land in Dubai for auction, and the Emirates Auction has posted this particular auction online and via smart applications. This has had a huge impact in attracting the largest possible number of bidders. The auction was ultimately won by a group of Emirati investors who bought the piece of land for more than Dh94 million.

Dr. Ahmed Saeed Bin Hazeem expressed his pride at this achievement, pointing out that the Dubai Courts had become the first court in the world to enter the Guinness World Records. “This is another addition to a series of important accomplishments achieved by the Dubai Courts, both locally and globally,” he said.

Bin Hazeem stressed Dubai Courts’ keenness to achieve continuous excellence and leadership, and to provide all that is innovative to meet the needs of clients and the general public. From this perspective comes the resolve of the Dubai Courts to deliver all its services over the web, and its transformation into smart applications.

Referring to the ‘Al Salfa’ remote case registration programme, Bin Hazeem stated that this is the first service in the Middle East to provide an integrated platform for clients to register their cases without the need to be physically present at the Courts’ premises.

This is also in accordance with the implementation of the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai: “The joy of existence is to do something one has not done before, or did not expect to do at all. Therefore, we are eagerly anticipating your creativity.”

The CEO of Emirates Auction, Abdullah Matar Al-Mannaei, congratulated the Dubai Courts on this grand achievement, offering sincere thanks to its Managing Director and all officials for the support provided to the national companies. He also lauded the strategic partnership between the Courts and the Emirates Auction.

Al-Mannaei stated: “Emirates Auction is always committed to excellence and provision of all that is new within its field of work. We have worked tremendously hard to transform our business to one focused on an online platform. We are currently working to switch to smart applications, in an implementation of the directives of the wise leadership of the UAE. We have already launched a mobile application which enables the public to participate in auctions online. We are also working to convert all of our services and businesses to smart applications in the near future.”

“E-transformation and the transformation to smart applications have had significant benefits for the company. Through these applications, Emirates Auction can operate continuously without interruption, and will not be affected by weekends or holidays as was the case in the past. The summer period used to witness a halt in the auction process due to holidays and travel. However with smart applications, the Emirates Auction is working day and night on a continuous basis,” he added.

“The launching of our auctions via smart applications has opened the way for the company to reach the world and increase its scope. We now receive numerous auctions from many countries in the world such as the United States, European countries, Asian countries, and elsewhere. In addition, many investors from these countries participate in the auctions which we post via smart applications and online software,” Al-Mannaei explained.
