Snake-sized worm in woman’s eye [video]

Saudi surgeons removed a massive worm that had lived inside the eye of a local woman and caused her severe pains.

A YouTube film showed the doctors performing a surgery to extract the snake-sized worm out of the woman’s eye at a hospital in the Gulf kingdom.

Arar newspapers quoted doctors as saying the work might have grown inside the woman’s eye after she used a contaminated lens or eye mascara.

“The lens or mascara could have been contaminated with worm eggs, which later hatched and grew inside the patient’s eye,” one doctor said.

The paper did not mention where in Saudi Arabia the operation was performed.
