iPhone 6, Galaxy S4, BB Z10 lookout: Android Facebook smartphone on April 4?

So is Facebook launching a phone? A media invitation on April 4 to the California headquarters has sparked speculation that the social networking giant is finally launching its own Facebook-friendly phone.

A Daily Mail report quoted a TechCrunch source as saying that “the phone will be an Android OS running on HTC, and have several prominent features that tie back to social interactions on Facebook”.

The phone is speculated to rely on its own system such as messenger and give users notifications on their home screen. The gadget would optimize the Facebook application, said the source.

Facebook and Android have been allegedly working on marketing campaigns for the new smartphone, according to 9to5Google. Facebook has been silent about the phone until now.
