Will Aishwarya's name and fame fade in 2013?

She might have had no movies in her kitty this year, but that didn’t stop Aishwarya Rai Bachchan from hogging the spotlight in 2012.

In fact, she even bagged the 'Celebrity in the News' award for 2012.

So, we are expecting her to stay ahead of her “younger” peers in 2013.

Her toned body and sudden eagerness to open up to the media just proves she’s all geared for a larger public life in the New Year.

The year 2012, put Ash on the media glare for her ballooning post-pregnancy weight to her obsessive cover-up of her daughter Aaradhya Bachchan.

She soon shifted gear to more accessible star, by unveiling her little daughter to the world, launching her new role as the UN ambassador, to even promising a return to the big screen.

All in all, Ash knew how to grab the headlines without breaking into a sweat.

While her younger peers were slogging towards box-office glory, Ash played out her mommy duties with aplomb and won over the audience.

Unlike most Bollywood moms who hide their pregnancy weight gain and refuse to step out until they shape up, Ash remained a game changer.

She refused to hide her bulge, and even walked the Cannes red carpet in designer finery.

The bulge did kick-off a public debate, but she turned it into her favour, insisting she “never dieted” and believed in a “healthy lifestyle”.

She has, in fact, taken her time to tone-down, forcing industry insiders to speculate it’s for her 2013comeback.

Among other things, the New Year will also mark her big 4-0 birthday. And, considering she marked her 39th birthday by bagging the highest French civilian honour, we are sure she’s planning something spectacular for 2013.

According to an astrologer on Bollywoodlife website, the New Year will see Ash win a plum movie project and see her spending most part of the year filming.

“Her 40th year indicates that she will strike back with full power and resume work after a much needed break,” predicted the website.

It also added that this could also take a toll on her mental health.

“This may take a toll on her mental well-being as she will miss her one-year old daughter Aaradhya, hubby Abhishek and her in-laws a lot during this time, giving in to bouts of depression and loneliness.”

But, considering she has been in the business long enough, we think she’ll devise a way to deal with this as well.

The astrologer, in fact, even advices ways to deal with the problem. "Wearing a Red Coral in gold on her ring finger will help her bringing out the right balance in her life and also stop unnecessary delays if any.”

There has, however, been no confirmation about her comeback film, with the media working out different theories on who will win over the green-eyed beauty.

The tug-of-war so far is between Karan Johar, who is apparently planning a period drama with her and Ranbir Kapoor, her mentor Mani Ratnam and good pal Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

But judging by how she has fared remarkably well in 2012, we are definite she will soar to new heights in the New Year.
