Dusty UAE weather alert for motorists

The effects of the sandstorm that hit the UAE’s interior regions on Monday afternoon is likely to continue today.

According to an NCMS report, fresh and strong winds will blow up dust/sand reducing horizontal visibility.

Day temperatures are also forecast to decrease.

Minimum temperature will dip to 11 degree centigrade in internal areas with the maximum at 28 degree C.

The skies will remain hazy and cloudy for most part of the day, with chances of fog during morning hours.

However, humidity is also expected to rise by night.

An Emirates 24l7 reader said a sandstorm swept through Dubai Studio City and Motor City areas on Monday afternoon that reduced visibility substantially.

The Ministry of the  Interior also issued a warning on Monday evening about reduced visibility due to dust in different areas of Abu Dhabi and highways. “Motorists are urged to drive with caution,” it said.
