Police seized the maid, in her 30s, following a report by her Saudi employer that she had fled the house.

Emirati finds 3-month old girl at Global Village

An Emirati woman visiting the Global Village stumbled across a three-month-old Asian girl inside a pram and police said they were still looking for her family.

The woman and her friend were about to enter the Village on Thursday when she heard a baby crying near the gate, Emirat Alyoum Arabic language daily said.

“She found the baby inside a pram…the girl had a bottle with milk and pampers with her but she was alone,” the paper said, quoting Dubai CID chief Brigadier Khalil Al Mansoori.

Mansoori said police at the Village announced the finding of the baby through loudspeakers but that no one came forward to claim her.

He said the girl had Asian features and that police were taking the usual procedures in such cases, including taking her finger prints and DNA for identification.
