Bollywood is having what could be its darkest hour.

Just days after India’s Supreme Court verdict on actor Sanjay Dutt in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case left the star facing five years in jail, Indian media is now reporting that Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan and three other actors will appear before a court in fresh charges filed in a 14-year-old case of poaching a blackbuck during a film shooting in Rajasthan.

Attorney K L Vyas says while Salman Khan has been charged with shooting the bucks, Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre and others allegedly abetted the crime by encouraging him while hunting in Rajasthan state.

If convicted, they face three to six years in prison. The actors deny the charges. Four of the accused appeared before Magistrate Chandrakala Jain on Saturday.

Meanwhile, support and shock in the Sanjay Dutt verdict continued to ring out across the film fraternity in India.

Superstar Rajinikanth was quoted as saying: "I was very disturbed when I heard about my friend and a lovely person Sanjay Dutt's verdict. The current support and appeal for his pardon is giving me hope. I pray to god that he gets remedy."

The Supreme Court upheld Sanjay's conviction under the Arms Act for illegally possessing weapons, and sent him to five years' imprisonment.

The 53-year-old has already spent 18 months in jail. He was convicted by a court for illegal possession of a 9 mm pistol and an AK-56 rifle.
