Justin Bieber has been branded "disgusting" after spitting from a hotel balcony onto fans waiting outside.

The 'Believe' hitmaker was slammed after showering devoted supporters waiting outside the Hazelton Hotel in Toronto, Canada, on Thursday (25.07.13) with his saliva, much to the amusement of his friends.

However, others took to twitter to condemn his behaviour.

Katie Langley wrote: "Justin Bieber spat at his fans from a balcony because he was bored. That's just downright disgusting."

Blogger Rebekka-Mary Darling added: "Justin Bieber spitting? Seriously? Can't you afford a tissue with all your millions? It's revolting."

And gossip columnist Rob Shuter wrote: "I'm so over this clown."

Despite his antics, Justin had earlier praised the waiting fans.

Posting a video of the crowds outside the hotel on Instagram, he wrote: "I wake up this morning to this :) Best fans in the world. #beliebers #sexyfans. (sic)"

The incident is the fourth spitting controversy the teenage star has been involved in this year.

Earlier this month, DJ Addison Ulhaq claimed the 'Baby' singer spat in his eye, nose and mouth and insulted him during a row at the Social Room in Columbus, Ohio.

In March, Justin denied allegations from one of his neighbours that he had spat in his face during a row, and in January a woman claimed he or a friend had spat in her drink at a North Carolina gym.

Selena Gomez: 'I'll always care about Justin'

Selena Gomez says she will always care about Justin Bieber even though they are no longer dating.

The 'Come & Get It' singer's on/off relationship with the 19-year-old singer is currently off but Selena says she is still protective of her former boyfriend and they will always remain close.

She told 'Good Morning America': "He and I have had such a history together. I'll always care about him and protect him if anyone tries to be mean."

Meanwhile, Selena celebrated her recent 21st birthday at the Bagatelle restaurant in West Hollywood with her mother Mandy Cornett and stepdad Brian Teefey, who purchased some alcoholic beverages for her group of friends.

Selena - who always said she intended to have her first legal alcoholic drink at the eatery - was spotted popping bottles of champagne to celebrate and at one point she started dancing on the bar.

The pop star posted a picture on Instagram of her surrounded by her group of friends and a large cake, which featured a big 21 written in icing, and wrote: "Thank you to bagatellela for an amazing bday!!!! It's a birthday WEEK! #werk #becauseIcan (sic)"

The singer-and-actress was also accompanied at Bagatelle by her 'Spring Breakers' co-star Ashley Benson, and the pair and Selena's friends went on to watch a sexy show and party at Beacher's Madhouse.
