A dense blanket of fog covered the area close to the coast in Dubai, reducing visibility.

The National Centre of Meteorology &  Seismology (NCMS), on Tuesday morning, said that fog was covering the coastal western and eastern areas, extending from sea towards land.

Parts of Dubai will experience visibility of below 1,000 metres, most fog cumulating around Jebel Ali.

The foggy condition will continue to until 8-9am, after which the fog will gradually dissolve, said the centre.

“Similar weather will continue over the next three days,” said a NCMS spokesperson adding that fog was predicted for today as well. “The fog is locally formed and paired with a very light wind. Therefore, it will gradually dissolve.”

Temperatures are hovering around 30 °C in most emirates today. The level of humidity has increased considerably, reaching 89% in the northern emirates. Humidity levels in Dubai are lowest at 79%.

Commuters are urged to drive with care during foggy conditions, maintaining a safe distance between vehicles and reducing the speed.
