It’s back-to-discounts time for UAE residents. Just a few days after Dubai’s Emirates and flyDubai, and Abu Dhabi’s Etihad announced special fares for those planning to travel now, Sharjah’s budget carrier Air Arabia joins the discounted airfare bandwagon with offers to India.

The Sharjah-based carrier is offering tickets priced Dh149 to Mumbai and Dh249 for flights to Delhi. These are one-way, all-inclusive prices that the airline is offering for flights departing from Sharjah.
It is a limited period offer, Air Arabia notes, and the number of seats available at this promo fare are also limited, it advises. Those interested in cashing in on the offer need to book by Wednesday, September 3, 2014, and the travel period is until October 31 of this year.
Leading airlines in the country have slashed ticket prices to attract customers as most expat families have returned to the UAE after the summer holidays.
As back-to-school season kicks in, with a lot less people travelling out of the UAE, even the country’s full-fledged airlines are offering special fares to customers to take advantage of their deals to fly out.
Dubai’s Emirates is offering a 15 per cent savings in Business Class and 20 per cent in Economy Class fares to select destinations worldwide.
Interested customers need to book by September 11 for outbound travel between September 10 and November 30, 2014.
Economy class fares within the Middle East start at Dh895; to Asia & Pacific at Dh1,385; to Europe at Dh1,535; to Africa at Dh1,745 and to North and South America at Dh4,385.
Until yesterday, Etihad Airways was also offering special deals on its return fares in economy and business class from UAE to various destinations.
The last day to book the tickets was the end of last month but there are still deals that can be availed of.
For example, you can fly to Manila for Dh1,985 in its economy class. The sale is valid until September 15, 2014. There are other destinations as well to choose from.
