UAE-based Filipinos can now call home at local rates

Good news for Filipinos in the UAE.

Etisalat’s prepaid customers can now call any number in the Philippines at a local calling rate of 0.6fils per second (36fils per minute).

“The new promotion for our Filipino customers is our commitment to offering them better value. They can talk to their heart’s content on international mobile calls made to the Philippines at local charges, without having to worry about the network of the receiver or time of the day,” said Khaled El Khouly, Chief Marketing Officer at Etisalat.

Etisalat noted in a media statement that this is limited-time promotion and that Dh1 call set up fee will be charged for every call. So, in effect, a 5-minute call from the UAE to the Philippines will cost Dh1.8 plus Dh1, or Dh2.8.

To activate the service, Wasel customers need to subscribe to the promotion by dialling *140*4#.
