Manchester City are waiting anxiously to discover the extent of an injury sustained by Samir Nasri whilst on international duty with France, according to reports.

The former Arsenal player was introduced as a 75th-minute substitute in the 0-0 draw in Romania and finished the match with no apparent problem.

Reports, however, have emerged suggesting Nasri has broken a bone in his hand.

The playmaker is expected to report back at City on Wednesday afternoon when the club, who host Wigan this weekend, will evaluate the injury.

Nasri joined City from Arsenal this summer for a fee of £24 million, and he impressed on his debut for the club as Roberto Mancini's men triumphed 5-1 at Tottenham, the Frenchman laying on three assists.

But the concern for his new club now is that he will be unable to make his first appearance at Eastlands against Wigan Athletic on Saturday.
