Star struck Bollywood fans in Dubai will be spoilt for choice next month as three world film premieres and a fourth, red-carpet affair featuring veteran celebrities will  keep the glamour quotient on full charge through April.

As many as 11 famous faces will descend in to the emirates over the next few weeks, with stars such as Sunny Deol, Kangana Ranaut, Ayushmann Khurrana, Ali Zafar, Siddharth and David Dhawan being just some of the top billed names.

Speaking to Emirates 24|7, Syed Shuja of Dream Advertising and Ministry of Events said: “We will kick off the celebrity parade with a very unique event for the world premiere of ‘Chashme Baddoor’ on April 2.

“As most are aware, filmmaker David Dhawan has directed the official remake of the 1981 classic, which is also re-releasing on the same date as a limited screening. Hence, we decided to have red carpet premieres for both films side by side and fly the stars down to Dubai.”

So while Dhawan’s ‘Chashme Baddoor’ will see Pakistani singer/actor Zafar, Telugu and Tamil superstar Siddharth, Divyendu Sharma and Taapsee Paanu, with a possible inclusion of Rishi Kapoor, at the premiere, alongside director Sai Paranjpye’s ‘Chashme Baddoor’ will also re- release with veteran actors Farooq Shaikh and Deepti Naval walking the red carpet in a double whammy.

Eight days later on April 10 will see the premiere of Rohan Sippy’s ‘Nautanki Saala’, starring Khurrana and Kunal Roy Kapoor of ‘Delhi Belly’ fame.

The comedy, which also features Abhishek Bachchan in a cameo, will see Khurrana croon yet another track after is turn in the National Award winning ‘Vicky Donor’ last year.

Shuja continued: “Following this, on April 24 we will see the world premiere of ‘I Love NY’, which will see Sunny Deol and Kangana Ranaut walk the red carpet in Dubai.”

Directed by Radhika Rao, romcom sets upon two strangers living in two different cities on New Year’s Eve, who are tossed into each other’s company by fate in a comedy of errors.

Quizzed about the spate of film premieres in the emirate in a single month, Shuja said: “Dubai is star struck, with fans here never getting tired of chancing upon an event with a celebrity name attached to it.”

Earlier, Fox Star Studios CEO, Vijay Singh, confirmed the same, saying: “Back in 2010, we hosted the premiere of ‘My Name is Khan’ in the UAE, which still holds the number one position for an Indian film across the GCC.

“In these two years, the state of business has transformed so dramatically, whereby once where the UK and the US were considered the biggest markets for showbiz has now become the Middle East.”

Lead actor, Zafar echoed the statement saying: “The large Asian diaspora in the Middle East ensures that our film has a strong market base here. Bollywood sells, and that is a fact, which is why we come here to promote our films and organise premieres.”

Shuja added: “Also, the UAE’s geographic proximity to India and its unique release policy of Bollywood films releasing a day earlier to India allows filmmakers the chance to hold two premieres, one in its largest overseas market and one on its home turf.”
