The Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance has awarded a Jordanian manager 4-year jail for assaulting and raping a Kazakhstani manager in her flat.

The court acquitted AAA, 34, of kidnapping accusation.

The prosecution accused AAA of attacking EA, 26, in her building by holding her hand and pointing sharp tool to her back and pushing her towards her flat. He beat her up till she fell unconscious and then raped her thrice. He stole stuff from her flat and ran away leaving her with two per cent permanent disability. He was also accused of stealing sunglass, laptop, modem, three massage devices, two hairdryers, two mobile phones and 21 eyelashes.

The victim - who is also a director - testified that she knew AAA through a chat website.

“I admired the way he talks and decided to talk to him and we agreed. I gave him my mobile number and within a few minutes he called me. We spoke for about two minutes and was sure that I was the same woman whom he was talking to in the chat. A few days later on March 14, he called me and asked me [out] for a dinner. I agreed and we went to the Marina walk because he lost the way. Then I suggested that we can take our dinner in a hotel at Al Sufooh Road. We had the dinner then moved to another hotel by taxi where we consumed alcohol. Then I excused as I wanted to go back home in Al Mulla building. We took a taxi to the building and it was about 3.30am. He asked me to go with me to my flat but I refused. But he insisted telling that he spent money on me… and all his face features got changed and started shouting at me…

“He held my hands towards my back and put a sharp tool at my back which I thought was a knife. I got scared and told him to take Dh200 I had. But he refused and insisted to go up to the flat as there might be more money… as he expressed. I went up expecting my flat mates are in. As I got into the flat, he grabbed me from my hair and pushed me into the room… he started searching for money and I started shouting, he punched in my face and head several times, asking me where is the money,” she said.

The Kazakhstani manager said: “I told him that there is money in my clothes in the wardrobe… he searched but did not find. He held my head and hit it to the wall several times, undressed me and raped me thrice…I fell unconscious.

“He dragged me to the bathroom… put me in the bathtub and opened water then he put salt in the water and left the flat… After several attempts I could move out of the tube… went to the flat door but found it locked… I went to the balcony and asked for help. As police came I fell unconscious and woke up in hospital,” she testified.

First Corporal Mohsen Ali, testified that he was rushed to a building in Al Barsha and found out the flat was locked.

“We managed to open the door and the flat was in a big mess. The victim was lying on the bed sustaining injuries and bruises, so she was rushed to the hospital. She testified that they went to two hotels where they had dinner and consumed alcohol… the accused asked her to drink alcohol but he himself was not drinking and then took her back home,” he testified.

“From the surveillance cameras at the hotels, we reached the car he used. It was a rented car and the accused was staying in the Gardens; so he was arrested,” testified policeman Mahmoud Ahmad.

The accused told the police that he knew the victim through the internet then she agreed to go out with him and offered him sex for $500. He went with her to her flat in Al Barsha.

He had consensual sex with her but she bit her tongue so he was outraged and beat her with fists and TV wire. He also stole her stuff and passport and ran away, according to the court records.

Forensic tests proved the victim's claim. The accused failed to attend the first hearing of the case.
