Restaurant's best dish: 'kidney with cockroaches'

A Saudi man who went into a popular restaurant with his family and ordered a kidney dish began devouring his favourite meal when he suddenly froze at what he saw—a cooked cockroach stuffed inside the meat.

When he checked the other dish, he could not see any cockroach as his wife and children had already devoured the winged insect and left only its legs.

Yasser Al Rubai was mad and immediately rebuked the owner before heading for the municipality and filed a complaint.

“Authorities were swift in taking action by shutting down the restaurant and imposing a heavy fine on it,” Sabq daily said in a report from the western town of Taif. “Rubai said he wants more measures to be taken against the Yemeni restaurant including defamation in the media.”
