Fog gives a wintry feel to Dubai this morning

Dubai had a wintry feel this morning - from inside the car.

As fog enveloped all the major arteries, office-goers and school children had a cool ride.

In fact, as RK, Indian driving to office put it, the morning fog reminded him of Delhi's winter mornings. "It was surreal," he said, "to see such a sight during the desert summer."

Buildings were enveloped in fog and even those along the sides of the roads were not visible or barely visible.

"I drive every morning along Al Ain Road and I have a great view of Burj Khalifa. I look forward to saying good morning to it. But today, I could not see it at all," said John Adams, an office-goer.

However, as one got of the car, the desert heat was there to greet one.

The National Centre for Meteorology and Siesmology (NCMS) forcast said: "Relatively hot to hot weather in general, and hazy at times over some areas. The winds will be light to moderate in general."

It attributed the fog to the relative humidity that "is likely to increase over some coastal areas during night and tomorrow early morning".

For Friday, the forecast was for fair weather in general, and hazy at times. The winds will be fresh, causing blowing dusts/and especially over the western areas.

The relative humidity is likely to increase over the coastal areas during night and early morning. Sea will be rough with wave height 6-8/10 ft offshore on Saturday and onwards.
