Arsenal’s final piece of the title-winning jigsaw will fall in to place when midfielder Jack Wilshere finally returns to Premier League action.

Wilshere, 20, has not featured since limping out of a pre-season friendly in 2011 with an ankle problem.
However, he is being seen as a key player for the Gunners to pose a serious title threat.

"It is fantastic for him," said Gunners manager Arsene Wenger.

"When you are out for so long, it's massive to take. It's massive for him to come back, and for us as well."

Wilshere resumed full training on 21 September and Wenger says it will take 10 days before he could be considered for selection.

Santi Cazorla was swept away memories of Cesc Fabregas, Lukas Podolski has eased the pain of the loss of Robin Van Persie.

In moving to replace the players Arsenal have sold over the past two seasons, Wenger will be pleased with Wilshere filling the Samir Nasri hole.
