12 hurt in 3-car collision in Sharjah

A three-vehicle collision in Sharjah on Sunday resulted in 12 people being injured.

The  accident took place near the third intersection on Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road at about 4.40am when road works were being carried out.

No sooner than the Sharjah Operations Room received information about the incident than emergency crew along with ambulance and rescue team reached the site.

A Corolla car driven by an Asian rammed into the parked pick-up, carrying road repair workers.

After the police moved the vehicle from the street,  another speeding car hit the vehicle yet again further injuring the men inside.

One of the drivers who were seriously injured and others who suffered medium to light injuries were transferred to hospital.

Sharjah Police urged motorists to slow down when they see road works being carried out and always maintain speed limits.
