20kg hashish, 48,000 tablets seized in UAE

The six-member gang of drug pushers arrested by Dubai Police with some of the narcotics founds in their possession.

Dubai Police have arrested two Gulf citizens and four Asians and seized a total 20kg of hashish, heroin and opium and 48,000 narcotic tablets from them.

Major General Abdul Jalil Mahdi of Dubai Police said of the two Gulf citizens, one of those arrested was a government employee, 28, and the other, 34, was unemployed and lived in Al Twar area.

About 3.820kg of hashish, some opium and 15,000 tablets were found in the house of the first accused.

One of those arrested, 25, was unemployed and lived in Ras Al Khaimah.

The rest of the gang was arrested in Dubai’s Ras Al Khor area. One of them was a 29-year-old sailor and one of them was a 24-year-old driver without identity papers.

Approximately 16.339kg of hashish and some heroin and opium were found in the trunk of a car of a member of the gang.
