Bollywood couple Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s wedding rituals were simple but it was indeed one of Bollywood’s big fat weddings of all times.

The power couple celebrates their first marriage anniversary today (October 16). Kareena will be joining her husband Saif in London for a quiet anniversary get-away.

As the two celebrate we bring you a few snaphshots of the couple's wedding album.

While newly-weds Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor shied away from stepping out for the shutterbugs, despite giving an exclusive photo-op soon after they signed the deal in the morning, their celeb guests lent the Mumbai night party a befitting, glamorous touch.

Unlike the elusive bride and groom, the paparazzi were treated to the bridal party finery as the guests catwalked into the Taj hotel in Colaba.

The sisters of the groom, Soha and Saba, accessorized their lavish gold-and-cream lehengas with gold-and-white-beaded jewels, making each looking like a bride herself.

Saif’s little boy Ibrahim was dressed in golden hues as well. Only, Soha’s beau actor Kunal Khemu was out of sync, splashing a dash of colour to the ceremonies in his bright blue sherwani.

Even the bridal party, headed by the father of the bride Randhir Kapoor and the gorgeous sister Karishma, played up the cream-and-gold colour theme.

Randhir, who stepped out of the festivities to wave out to the waiting paparazzis, wore an off-white kurta with matching jacket, while his older daughter Karishma looked ravishing in Manisha Malhotra’s rich, embroidered designs and chunky, kundan jewellery.

Even the bride’s granny Krishna Raj Kapoor wore an elegant white saree, while her aunt Neetu Singh matched the theme with a white kurta embossed with gold designs.

Many guests also donned the same hues.

Gauri Khan’s sparkly white outfit outshined her famed partner Shah Rukh Khan’s crisp, black tie.

Sonam Kapoor teamed her gold saree with a pink blouse and chunky golden loops. Her famed dad Anil Kapoor donned a black suit, while mom Sunita wore a golden ethnic suit.

While the “warring” Bachchan clan is believed to have been extended an invitation to the event, it’s Amitabh’s daughter Shweta who made an appearance in a sizzling gold saree and chunky antique necklace. Her men, both her husband and her suave son Agastye, kept it sober in black.

Preity Zinta, who crackled in a sheer, red saree, evidently missed the memo, and so did Kareena’s bestie Amrita Arora, who wore a bright yellow anarkali.

Even at the very private mehendi party at Kareena’s Mumbai home, friends of the couple dodged the press and rushed into the apartment. However, some did stop to pose, and those included Saif’s stunning sisters Soha and Saba.

Lovers Soha and Kunal appeared in contrast styles, with one sporting a black, fusion number and the other going in for the white, ethnic look.

Saif kept it simple and traditional in white, while Kareena wore an exquisite, orange lehenga and kundan jewels. The groom’s daughter Sara, was pictured dashing in a stunning pastel lehenga, while Karishma dazzled in a light green, Manish Malhotra lehenga.

Malaika Arora-Khan was in gorgeous pink lehenga, while her heavily pregnant sister Amrita wore a white-and-golden dress.
