Two Yemenis were sentenced one year in jail for a series of thefts they had committed with accomplices in Dubai’s Al Quoz area.
In December 2012, police received a complaint from a warehouse in Al Quoz about a break-in through the fire exit and theft of Dh1,500 and a mobile phone worth Dh1,000.
Another theft complaint was reported by another store where the burglars broke through the door and stole a safe that contained Dh2,000.
During the same month, thieves broke into a company’s office and stole Dh4,000 and a mobile phone worth Dh1000 after breaking a safe.
Police investigated the complaints and arrested TS 28, student, and AS, 20, jobless on suspicion.
TS admitted to the thefts with AS and other Yemenis.
AS is currently serving a six-month term in jail after he was found guilty along with two others last November in a theft case.
The two convicts were also ordered to be deported after serving their jail terms.
