The Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of Emirates Investment Authority, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has chaired the periodic meeting of the authority.
It was attended by Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Deputy Chairman and members of the board.
The meeting reviewed the authority's strategic investment plan as well as opportunities for creating investment firms and setting up strategic partnerships in priority areas to ensure good investment returns that would back up the federal government budget.
The board approved the appointment of Mubarak Rashid Al Mansouri as executive director. It also reviewed the activity of the authority's executive committee which coordinates work and sets the authority's investment bills, systems and plans.
The meeting approved external auditors for the authority. The EIA was set up in November. The authority is responsible for investing funds on behalf of the federal government.
