Any Bollywood shoot taking place and fans not coming in thousands is very rare. Chances are the crowd might also get out of control when the likes of Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone are shooting.

But this doesn't happen in Dubai; not that fans here are any less crazy about movie stars.

A Bollywood blockbuster in the making, ‘Happy New Year’ (HNY) crew has been camping in Dubai for the past couple of weeks.

Pictures of stars shooting for Farah Khan's movie are pouring in on social media platforms.

The iconic Atlantis hotel, Dubai Mall and Terminal 3 of Dubai Airport have turned into a movie set. These places are some of the busiest spots in Dubai visited by residents and tourists.

But the crew has been shooting here without any disruptions and without the crowd getting out of control.

Farah Khan wanted local artists as extras for their shoot at the Atlantis and Dubai was not willing to miss this chance of a lifetime to star in a Shah Rukh Khan film — featuring Deepika Padukone, Abhishek
Bachchan, Boman Irani and Son Sood.

The director Farah Khan seems super satisfied with the Dubai crowd. She showed her gratitude with a tweet: "What a Fantastic crowd in dubai.. shoots with us all day without a complaint n without hassling
any actor..Thank u!"

After wrapping their Atlantis schedule, 'Happy New Year' team moved to Dubai Mall to shoot in the Ice Rink. Again Farah needed skilled skaters to shoot a song and dance sequence.

Bollywood fans were jubilant to share screen space with Deepika and SRK. Unaware of any shoot taking place in Dubai Mall, shoppers were in for a pleasant surprise this week.

Everyone stopped on their track to catch a glimpse of the on-going shoot. The three storey mall above and around the ice rink was choc-o-block as crowd started to gather fast.

Soon cameras, smartphones and iPads were out and enthusiastic fans were busy taking pictures and videos.

Shah Rukh Khan, who was busy giving his trademark pose, addressed the crowd briefly. Later, he took to Twitter and praised the fantastic Dubai crowd, he wrote: "The graciousness & warmth shown by Dubai..their Film org...security...the airport authorities & Atlantis makes filming such a pleasure."

"Articulate,FootballConversations. Wot a lovely set of co actors. Hassle free, happy & extremely competitive! This is going to be a H N Year! (sic)"

Even the choreographer turned director expressed her gratitude, "Most hectic 2 days went smoothly, thanx 2 the lovely management at both Dubai Mall n Emirates! n the lovely people of Dubai who never hassle".

At the same time she praised her actors, saying: "N  my actors cming dot on time n staying til late without a complaint.@iamsrk @juniorbachchan @deepikapadukone @bomanirani @SonuSood Thank U".

The team was also shooting at terminal 3 of Dubai airport and was amazed by the co-operation and competence of the management.

Farah Khan has been shooting in Dubai from September 1 and will continue to do so throughout the month.

The Lost Chambers aquarium saw new occupants as all the stars wore their diving suits and took a plunge in the blue waters.

They shot in the huge tank filled with 65,000 marine animals. The Ambassador Lagoon contains species indigenous to the waters of The Middle East. The water in The Ambassador Lagoon holds over 11 million litres of natural sea water.

Dolphin Bay and the pristine beach of Atlantis have also been zeroed in by Farah.

Dubai Film And TV Commission has extended all possible assistance for the shoot to one of the biggest Bollywood productions.
