Dubai 4WD climbs on to central road divider

Three separate accidents are being reported on May 12 on the Al Ain Highway, heading in the direction of Dubai.

The accidents have occurred before the exit for Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road intersection, with one of the incidents involving a white four-wheel drive that has broken through the central divider on the highway.

Eyewitness K Sridhar, who saw all three of the incidents, spoke to Emirates 24|7 saying: "There are three accidents that have occurred on this small stretch of road before Exit 6, with a white four-wheel driving having broken through the central divider with its airbags deployed.

"A second, a silver-coloured Volkswagen sedan also appeared damaged a little further ahead. Dubai police and ambulances are already on the scene."

Sridhar also reported on two separate two-car collisions before and after the above-mentioned accident, which have caused traffic to come to a near standstill on the busy road.

He added: "It took over 30 minutes to cross this minor stretch of a road this morning. Drivers should look for alternative routes."

Another reader reported a small collission between a minibus and a sedan on the Al Khail exit to Al Safa. Though no damage or injuries could be seen, traffic was crawling as drivers slowed down to see what had happened.
