Al Nasr, Fujairah Club and Ajman Club all returned to winning ways at the end of the second week of the 2013 UAE Beach Soccer League held at the Al Mamzar Beach Park on Friday and Saturday.

Al Nasr notched a 3-2 win over neighbours Al Wasl, Fujairah Club secured a hard-fought 5-4 win over Ittihad Kalba and Ajman Club got a 4-3 result over Al Shabab in second week action of the annual league.

Al Ahli remained at the top of the standings after they were awarded full points following the non-show from Dibba Al Hisn for their second round match on Saturday.

In the opening round last weekend, Al Ahli had begun their title defence with a 7-4 thrashing of Ajman Club, while President’s Cup winners Al Nasr had fallen to a 1-2 defeat to Ittihad Kalba. Al Wasl had secured a hard-fought 4-2 win over Fujairah Club and Al Shabab had thrashed Dibba Al Hisn 12-2.

Ajman Club was one of the teams impressing in this eight-team competition. It was their rising star Hassan Ali who was in fine touch scoring a well-deserved hat-trick while Adham Hassan scored one. For Al Shabab, Khalid Abdul Rahman and Essa Abbas got a brace each.

Al Nasr was the other team back to winning ways after their 3-2 win over neighbours Al Wasl. Farooq Ali scored two and Ali Karim added one for the winners, while Haider Abbas scored both the goals for Al Wasl.

There was a second hat-trick on the weekend with Ahmed Salem getting three and Issa Ibrahim added two goals for Fujairah Club as they beat Ittihad Kalba 5-4. Ibrahim Ismail, Haitham Mohammed, Yousuf Mohammed and Mohammed Muftah all got one each for Kalba.

The third round will be held next weekend after which the league will take a break of nearly one and a half month to allow the UAE national squad to get ready for the Asian qualifiers for the 2013 Tahiti Fifa Beach Soccer World Cup to be played in Doha next month.

The 2013 UAE Beach Soccer League is being held under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Sports Council.
