A/C technician jailed for molesting British woman

The Dubai Criminal Court sentenced air-conditioning technician to one-year jail followed by deportation for molesting a British woman in her flat.

SKS, 25, confessed to the accusation when appeared before the court.

The victim ML, 31, told the court that the accused grabbed her hand and pulled her towards himself in her flat near Dubai Festival City.

"The accused knocked at the door. A security guard and two other people were with him. He claimed that he came to inspect the fire alarm system. So I let him in. The security guard and the other two men waited outside. Ten minutes later he started chatting with me. He asked me about my country… then he put out his arm wanting to shake my hand. At first I was a bit hesitant but then I shook hands with him. Suddenly he grabbed my arm forcibly and kissed the back of my hand. Then he kissed it all over until the shoulder… I was petrified and pulled my arm away and asked him to leave the house immediately,” she testified.

“While walking towards the door, suddenly he turned back and groped my breast. He touched me inappropriately and I screamed at him… I pushed him out of the flat and slammed the door. I was perplexed and disturbed because it was the first time that I had ever come across such an incident. I immediately called my husband and informed him,” she testified.

The husband rushed home and went with the wife to lodge a complaint with the police.
