Sultan Qaboos bin Saeed of Oman arrived in the UAE on Tuesday on a fraternal visit, which came at an invitation from the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler of Abu Dhabi.
The visit comes as part of the regular consultations between the leaders of the UAE and Oman. The two heads of states explored ways for deepening the existing fraternal relations between the two countries and co-ordination in various fields.
Upon his arrival, the Omani head of state and his delegation were received by Sheikh Khalifa; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai; and General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. Officials present included Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum; Deputy Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Eastern Region Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Interior Minister Lt-General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, other sheikhs and senior officials, and Omani Ambassador to UAE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Ali Al Qatbi.
The delegation accompanying Sultan Qaboos consisted of a number of Omani ministers and other senior state officials. The two heads of states explored ways for deepening the existing fraternal relations between the two countries. The visit is also part of efforts to co-ordinate strategy. (Wam)
