Indian school results: 1 in 5 get 90%+ marks

Both students and parents in the UAE are jubilant after the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) and ICSE (International Curriculam Secondary Education) results were declared.

According to GEMS Education, its CBSE and ICSE schools in the UAE have achieved good results, with one in five students scoring more than 90 per cent score.

The schools have shown a 100 per cent pass rate in the board exam results. Out of 1,163 students who appeared for the exam, 21.6  per cent scored an average of 90 per cent. A total of 69.6 per cent of the students scored above 75 per cent and 98.3 per cent of students scored above 60 per cent.

Back in India also, students have scored impressively. In total 10,28,928 candidates had registered for Class XII examinations this year. Girls have fared much better than boys in this year's CBSE Class XII examinations, where the overall pass percentage stood at 82.66 per cent.

The pass percentage of girls stood at 88.52 as compared to 78.27 per cent for boys. Thiruvananthapuram in India registered the best results among all the regions, posting a pass percentage of 94.26, said CBSE in a statement, after the results for the Delhi and the Dehradun regions were declared on Thursday.

The pass percentage across the country stood at 82.66 per cent, slightly higher than last year’s 82.10 per cent. There are still some regions where the results are awaited.

A Delhi boy scored an aggregate of 99.6 per cent to become the all-India topper as the Central Board of Secondary Education declared Class 12 examinations’ results.
