Sharjah maid delivers baby in bathroom

An Asian housemaid who was impregnated through a relationship with a man delivered her baby boy at the bathroom of a health centre in Dhaid, Sharjah.

A doctor who examined the maid diagnosed her abdominal pains for appendicitis while her Emirati employer did not even know she was pregnant.

The employer rushed the maid to the clinic after she suffered from severe abdominal pains without telling him she was pregnant.

“She rushed out of the doctor’s room to the bathroom, where she delivered her baby. Medical staff took her in an ambulance to the Dhaid Hospital, where she was admitted to the obstetrics section,” the Arabic language daily 'Emarat Al Youm' said, adding that police are searching for the baby’s father.
