Man swallowed up alive by massive sand dune

An Afghan worker at a construction company in Saudi Arabia was killed when he was buried by a giant sand dune in the Gulf Kingdom’s massive desert, a newspaper reported on Monday.

The unnamed Afghan was digging into the sand along with other workers in a northeastern desert area when the sand dune collapsed and buried him.

“His friends kept digging until they reached him but it was too late…when they plucked him out, he was dead,” Sabq daily said.
