Dubai: Visitors to Dubai can apply for a single-entry tourist visa easily and get it issued within 48 hours, through seamless digital services offered by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs Dubai (GDRFA Dubai).
GDRFA Dubai explained the requirements and process to apply for the 30- or 60-day tourist visa through its website or smartphone application ‘GDRFA DXB’, which is available for Apple and Android devices.

Requirements
Before you begin the service, ensure that you have the following documents ready:
- Personal photo
- Valid passport
- National ID for certain countries
The GDRFA Dubai website also notes that applicants must have a valid medical insurance and travel ticket to apply for the service.
Where can I apply?
While you can apply for the visa online through the website – www.gdrfad.gov.ae – or the GDRFA DXB app, there are also several authorised tourism offices, where you can submit the visa application. How to apply
If you would like to submit the application through the website, you need to follow these steps:
- Visit the service page: https://gdrfad.gov.ae/en/services/f9e586fe-0642-11ec-0320-0050569629e8
- Click on ‘start service’. If you have an existing GDRFA account, sign in using your account details, or set up a new account.
- Select the service for a single-entry tourist visa.
- Upload the required documents.
- Make the payment for the visa cost.
Once your application is submitted, you will receive a reference number, which you can use to track your visa application.
How much does the visa cost?
According to the GDRFA website, this is the cost for the single-entry tourist visa:
- 30-day tourist visa fee: AED 200 + 5% VAT
- 60-day tourist visa fee: AED 300 + 5% VAT
Additional fees (if the sponsored person is inside UAE)
If you apply for the visa while you are in the UAE, you’ll need to also pay the following fees:
- Knowledge fee: AED 10
- Innovation fee: AED 10
- Fee for ‘inside country visa change’: AED 500
Note: Total amount may vary. The visa may increase or decrease depending on the circumstances surrounding the sponsored person or any other reasons that may require the same, according to the GDRFA.
