New beach in Dubai opens in Mamzar: Free entry, women’s only beach stretch, night swimming and more
The Khor Al Mamzar Beach offers a glimpse into Dubai’s next generation of beaches under the Dubai Beach Development Project

Dubai: Looking for a new beach spot in Dubai? Dubai has just opened a massive new beach – Khor Al Mamzar, which is set to offer residents the future of beach experiences in Dubai.
On May 5, Dubai Municipality inaugurated the Khor Al Mamzar beach project, which is the first stage of the AED 500 million Al Mamzar Beaches initiative. Once completed, Al Mamzar’s beaches are expected to welcome over seven million visitors each year.
Spread across 2.75 million square feet, the beach is part of Dubai’s broader plan to transform the emirate’s coastline, under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and build world-class public spaces under the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan.
All the upgrades
With free entry to the beach and newly upgraded experiences, here are five reasons why you should make the Khor Al Mamzar beach your next weekend trip:
1. Bigger beachfront and swimming area
The swimming area of the beach has more than doubled, with a swimming shoreline of 3.6km, and the total beachfront area now spanning 182,000 square metres.
2. New 24/7 night beach
Dubai Municipality has also designated a 300-metre stretch of the beach to operate round the clock, with lifeguards and support for visitors, making it perfect for night swimming.
The beach has also focussed on providing a three-fold increase in safety infrastructure like lifeguard towers and 12 emergency call points.
3. Region’s first floating walkway
One of the most defining architectural features is the floating bridge, linking the two sides of the beach together, and also housing a waterfront restaurant.
4. New fitness and sports facilities
The beach has also focussed on runners and cyclists, with more than 5.5km of tracks for running, walking and cycling. Additional sports facilities include an outdoor gym, a beach volleyball court and padel courts.
5. Water sports and marine activities
You will also be able to enjoy water sports activities like kayaking, jet skiing, paddle boating and flyboarding.
How to get there?
If you are taking public transport, the easiest way to get to the beach is to take the Dubai Metro and get off at the Salah Al Din Metro Bus Stop, from where you can take the C28 bus to the beach.
If you are coming from the Deira area, you can directly take the C28 bus, which starts from the Al Baraha Bus Station, and covers key locations like Al Ras, Bainyas and Abu Hail.
