A Saudi man has filed a law suit against a cabinet minister for libel accusing him of making false charges to kick him out of the ministry. The unnamed man, who had worked as secretary to the minister, told court in his petition that the minister accused him of forging official documents when he was working at his office, leading to his sacking and prosecution. The man said he was suing the minister for libel after a court in the Western Red Sea port of Jeddah acquitted him of forgery charges. “The court in Jeddah agreed to open a case against the minister, who the plaintiff wants to be jailed and lashed,” ‘Sabq’ newspaper said without identifying the minister.
