Dubai's index ended slightly lower on Monday as three of its most important stocks declined, falling 0.1 per cent to 1,655 points, with volumes dropping by almost half from the day before. The Dubai Financial Market fell 4.1 per cent after going ex-dividend, while Emaar Properties lost 1.6 per cent and Emirates NBD -- the UAE's largest bank by assets -- slipped 0.7 per cent. The Abu Dhabi index ended higher for a sixth session in eight, climbing 0.4 per cent to 2,609 points as bank gains outweighed declines in the real estate and telecoms sectors. "We're still continuing to track global markets. Many regional investors have been waiting for cheaper entry points, which have yet to materialise and so they're chasing the market up," said Julian Bruce, EFG-Hermes director of institutional equity sales. "Tomorrow should see some profit taking, but if the markets do pull back it will attract new buyers -- sentiment has shifted to be more positive."
