Dnata Travel Services, has bought a 20 per cent stake in the UK-based Hogg Robinson Group (HRG), the travel services company said yesterday. Dnata, which has paid £30 million (Dh219m) for the stake, has been the partner for HRG in the Middle East and West Asia region. It also makes Dnata the largest single investor in the company, Dnata said in a statement. Dnata's total holding post investment in Hogg Robinson is 61.36million ordinary shares, representing 19.99 per cent of the company's ordinary issued share capital. "This strategic investment is seen as a long-term move to further develop the profitability of the two companies." "Dnata has a long standing relationship with Hogg Robinson Group, which we are keen to maintain and develop. This investment signifies the level of confidence we have in our relationship with HRG and our desire to take that relationship to the next level," said Iain Andrew, Divisional Senior Vice-President for Dnata Travel Services.
