ECB calls Greece rumours 'absurd'

European Central Bank council member Ewald Nowotny said speculation of Greece leaving the euro region is "absurd". "It's in Greece's interest to remain in the euro region," Nowotny told Austria's ORF television in an interview yesterday. In Greece, "you have the problem that it's not only a budget problem but also a problem of trust", he said.
