Beacon of charity and a humanitarian
Emirates Volunteers Foundation has extended its heartfelt condolences to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler of Abu Dhabi, and General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on the death of Sheikh Ahmed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who was renowned for his voluntary humanitarian and charity efforts.
The board of association also offered condolences to the UAE leadership and people on the demise of Sheikh Ahmed bin Zayed, who led one of the largest charity organisations in the UAE, the Sheikh Zayed Charity and Humanitarian Foundation, when appointed as the board chairman in 1996.
The association underscored that through sustained support from the late Sheikh Ahmed bin Zayed, the foundation consolidated its existence in the humanitarian map as it signed 35 agreements and Memomranda of Understanding with governments and international organisations. The foundation was honoured by Unesco and OIC in recognition for its robust charity and humanitarian work.
