Vice-President heads UAE delegation to France

Sheikh Mohammed with US Education Secretary Margaret Spellings (WAM)

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, will today begin a two-day state visit to France.

He will meet French President Nicolas Sarkozy at the Elysee Palace in Paris.

Sheikh Mohammed will head a high-ranking UAE delegation including Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai; Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Department and Chairman of Emirates Group; Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, Foreign Trade Minister; Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Cabinet Affairs Minister; Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Economy Minister and Minister of State Reem Ibrahim Al Hashimi.

Yesterday, Sheikh Mohammed received the visiting US Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings.

Sheikh Mohammed discussed with Spellings ways to enhance co-operation between UAE and US educational institutions.

Later yesterday, they both attended the graduation ceremony of the American University of Dubai.

In a separate meeting, Sheikh Mohammed received Robert Greifeld, President and Chief Executive Officer of Nasdaq.

They discussed ways to enhance co-operation between financial institutions in the two countries.
