Shashi Tharoor, whose friendship with Dubai-based businesswoman Sunanda Pushkar recently revealed the state of the Indian Premier League's finances, is likely to marry her this month, according to Indian media reports. The friendship had even cost the former UN under-secretary general and parliamentarian his job. According to the latest buzz, Tharoor has divorced his Canadian wife Christa Giles and may tie the knot with Pushkar on August 17 in Thiruvananthapuram, the constituency the former junior foreign minister represents in the Lok Sabha. Soon after the news of the divorce came in on Friday, Tharoor and Pushkar made a joint public appearance in Gurgaon — their first near the capital since the IPL controversy broke -to watch the autobiographical play, 'Kuch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai', by Anupam Kher. And on Saturday morning, Tharoor and Pushkar offered prayers at a Maharashtra shrine where devotees throng to beat ill luck. However, Tharoor told reporters that he had performed the ritual for “family peace”.
