No Salman Khan movie to release in 2013
After flexing his muscles for ‘Dabangg 2’, the beefy actor is reportedly going to take it slow this year, with no releases scheduled for 2013.
He will, instead, focus on his health and ‘Being Human’ charitable work.
In fact, his Being Human Productions will step in to back an off-beat movie ‘Dr Cabbie’, which will highlight the woes of Indian immigrants, who have to take up odd-jobs to make ends meet.
Directed by noted Canadian director Jean-Francois Poulliot, the film will star Vinay Virmani, Adrianne Palicki, ‘Big Bang Theory’ Kunal Nayyar and Lillete Dubey.
“Dr. Cabbie is the story of an Indian immigrant and it has an inherent universal appeal,” Salman Khan told the Indian media.
Scheduled to launch later in 2013, the film, the director feels is a “timeless story that is humorous and heart-warming”.
Salman’s production house had earlier stepped in to back a fun children’s film titled ‘Chillar Party’ in 2011.
If Indian media reports are to be believed, there will be no Salman Khan release in 2013.
Salman’s home production, ‘Mental’, which had many scenes filmed in Dubai, has shifted its release from October this year to sometime in 2014.
According to the India Today, even his next movie ‘Kick’ is stalled, with no actress officially being signed on.
With Salman off the Bollywood rat race, looks like 2013 will be the year for the other two Khans – Shah Rukh and Aamir.
Aamir’s ‘Dhoom 3’ and Shah Rukh’s ‘Chennai Express’ could possibly be the big blockbusters this year, with Akshay Kumar’s ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Again’ and Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Krrish 3’ and Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Besharam’ following close behind.
Last year Salman’s ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ did remarkably well at the box-office, despite critics snubbing it.
While on Salman, there’s news that his INR 100crore blockbuster ‘Dabangg 2’ can now be watched online for international audiences.
The online facility, however, isn't available in India.
