Baby dumped in garbage returned to mom

The Filipino maid who dumped her newborn baby in a rubbish bin in Ras Al Khaimah has been jailed for one month with 3-year suspended sentence.

A court in Ras Al Khaimah allowed the mother to keep the child despite throwing him into a rubbish dump.

Quoting a source, Gulf News reported that the judge felt sorry for the woman and the child and wanted child to be breast fed by his mother and bring him up.

The Filipino mother became pregnant following an affair with a man from her country, source told the daily.

The infant – found in last May in good health – was taken to Saqr Hospital and it continues to provide baby with all necessary needs.
